Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakaatuh. I stand before you today with deep humility and profound gratitude, extending my sincerest thanks to the National President, Alhaji Musiliudeen Abdulgafar, the National Secretary, Alhaji AbdulRafiu Abatan, the entire leadership, and the convention planning committee of the Polytechnic Ibadan Muslim Graduates' Association (PIMGA) for the immense honour of being invited as your Guest of Honour for this landmark 2026 National Convention. I commend your choice of a timely and thoughtful theme: “Sustainable Legacy: Upholding Ethical Prosperity Amidst Economic Shift.” In an era defined by rapid and often volatile economic transformations, your focus on ethical prosperity is crucial. True success must be built on unwavering integrity, accountability, and justice, ensuring that economic growth does not compromise our values or the futures of coming generations. It is a powerful reminder that our ultimate legacy must be one of principled achievement, serving as a beacon of responsible citizenship and good governance.

It is also with great admiration that I applaud the unwavering resilience and enduring commitment of the PIMGA leadership and members. That this body continues to not only exist but to also actively engage its members through initiatives such as this National Convention is a remarkable achievement and a big telling of the strength of our foundational principles and the dedication of our collective fellowship. Many such alumni associations struggle to maintain momentum, yet PIMGA has persevered, proving itself as a durable pillar of support for both its graduates and current students. This resilience is a legacy in itself—one of continuity, service, and a profound sense of communal responsibility.

As we reflect on the contemporary issues facing our society and explore practical approaches to emerging challenges, I urge you to recognise the unique and vital role that a faith-based professional association like PIMGA can play. Our members, as products of this prestigious institution and as professional ambassadors, possess a double strength: technical expertise and an ethical compass derived from faith. In our various fields—be it engineering, commerce, technology, or public service—we have a profound responsibility to be ethical champions. Demonstrating that sustainable prosperity can be achieved while preserving integrity is one of the greatest contributions we can make to our nation and the ummah.

I look forward to the fruitful outcomes of our discussions, and I have every confidence that this convention will foster the responsible leadership and strengthened fellowship that are so vital in these complex times. I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) crowns our efforts with outstanding success, grants us the wisdom to navigate the economic shifts ahead with grace and principle, and ensures that the legacy we uphold continues to inspire and bless countless generations to come. Thank you for this exceptional honour, and I wish you a truly impactful and memorable convention. JazaakAllah Khair.
